Activity Director

We have a full time position open for Activities Director in our long term care/skilled nursing facility hosting 133 beds. This position is responsible for coordinating internal and external resident activities in small and large group settings, creating a monthly facility-wide calendar, assessing resident needs upon admission & throughout their stay, recruiting/coordinating volunteers, flexibility in scheduling, and able to communicate with management throughout the facility on all appropriate matters.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of State/Federal regulations in the long-term care health field as well as computer skills (Internet based systems, Microsoft Outlook, EXCEL, WORD , ect.) and staff supervision skills required. Associate or Bachelors’ degrees strongly preferred in Business or a field related to position. National Certification Council for Activity Professional (NCCAP) is required. Household Assistant (11a-7p)

Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility provides skilled long term care services to residents in a beautiful household environment. We are accepting applications for new employees that are seeking employment as Household Assistants in our Facility. We provide both long term care and short term rehab care for our residents. Come for a tour and see what makes us different.

Position Summary:
The Household Assistant provides Dietary and Laundry / Housekeeping services. The Household Assistant supports the needs of the resident’s in their daily life. With primary functions of cooking nutritious meals and maintaining a healthy clean environment within the household.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
Experience in a long-term care setting and computer experience are a plus, but not required.

Skill Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. The ability to write legible and with correct English Grammar. Meet all health requirements by law. Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff. Basic computer skills are required and the ability to utilize the Facility’s electronic medical record system after training.

Hourly pay rates start at $14.26 per hour with an additional $0.75 per hour shift differential and .50 weekend shift premium.

Nurse Aide Training Program for Qualified Employees

Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility provides skilled long term care services to residents in a beautiful household environment.  We are accepting applications for new employees that are seeking training and employment as certified nurse aides in our Facility. We provide both long term care and short term rehab care for our residents.  Come for a tour and see what makes us different.

Hired Applicants must complete the offered Nurse Aide Training course and required testing in order to be registered as a Nurse Aide in the State of Michigan. Cross training in dietary, housekeeping and laundry skills is required to maintain employment. We are hiring for full time positions on the 3pm-11pm and 11pm-7am shifts. Our shifts include holiday and weekend rotation.

The starting wage rate is $15.89 per hour plus an additional .75 shift premium and .50 per hour weekend premium.  Top wage is $18.08 plus shift / weekend premium.

The care giver (universal worker) provides person-centered care. The CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistant) attend to and support the medical, physical and psychosocial needs of the resident’s in their daily life. With a primary goal in helping the resident achieve their quality of life goals at the highest optimum level.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Experience in a long-term care setting and computer experience are a plus, but not required.

Graduate of state approved CNA program in good standing and meet all applicable federal and start certifications.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. The ability to write legible and with correct English Grammar. Meet all health requirements by law. Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff.  Basic computer skills are required and the ability to utilize the Facility’s electronic medical record system after training.

Direct care staff that have completed one year of service are eligible to apply for financial assistance when pursuing their LPN or RN licensure.
