Visitation in the facility is based on positive cases with either residents or staff. If there is just one positive case, we are considered to be in outbreak status and general visitation will be halted for at least 14 days. If there are no positives in that 14-day period, we will be able to resume visitation, however all visits must be scheduled in advance and limited to 1 guest per resident.
If we are in outbreak status, only compassionate care visits such as hospice and/or end of life visits are allowed. These are approved by our Administrator or Director of Nursing.
As the weather warms up, we will allow outdoor visits in our courtyard. These visits must also be scheduled in advance and no walk-in’s will be allowed. All visits are limited to one person per resident for a time frame of one hour, following strict Covid-19 precautions with social distancing and wearing of face masks.
Because we have to limit the number of guests in the facility and courtyard, please understand that the time frame you request may not be available. We ask that you also consider that there are other family members wanting to see their loved ones so you are asked to arrive on time. If you arrive late, your visit will need to end at the original scheduled time, meaning your visit will be cut short.
Please keep in mind that regardless of your vaccination status, you will need to undergo a health screening prior to entry for each visit as directed in the March 10, 2021 CMS Guidelines for long term care. This is a directive given by the CDC and CMS which absolutely must be followed, so please be respectful of staff as we are only following orders.
There is also the option of having a window visit if a face-to-face visit will not work for you and your loved one. Like all of our visitation, window visits must also be scheduled. We allow up to two guests at the resident’s window at a time. Windows must remain closed however, the resident may require the use of a phone to converse with their visitor.
To schedule a visit please contact Brooke Bates, Director of Therapeutic Recreation at 231-533-8661 ext. 103 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
