Our Therapy Team

Meadow Brook views our therapy team as an important component of our health care services. Rehabilitation Services are available to all residents of our center. We feel that therapy is a vital link in maintaining independence and a resident’s valued abilities. Our Therapy Team consists of State licensed physical, occupational and speech therapists. Physical Therapy

The primary goal of our physical therapy team is to assist individuals to regain their personal highest level of independence and mobility. Our physical therapist uses equipment and treatment modalities that are proven to be the most effective with the senior population. Areas and goals that are addressed in physical therapy include:

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps patients to successfully adapt to the aging process and maximize independence with completing activities of daily living (ADL). ADL’s include the tasks that a personal performs daily such as feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting and home management tasks. OT assists in restoring these abilities by assessing and treating all underlying skill deficits or by teaching alternative methods or adaptive equipment. Primary areas and skills that OT can address include:

Speech Therapy

Many swallowing and communication disorders are evaluated and treated by speech therapy. Speech therapists teach patients to use compensatory strategies, and / or alteration of diet consistencies to improve a person’s ability to swallow food. Speech therapists are also qualified to assist individuals in regaining their ability to produce and understand speech therapy intervention include:
